§ 14-8. Provision for waiver.

The city commission may hear and determine whether to grant requests for variances to the regulations contained in this chapter at a regularly scheduled meeting, provided that under no circumstances will a variance be granted if it would be contrary to the public interest, safety or general welfare or violate the regulations of any other affected governmental agency.

Such request for variance shall be filed with the building official and accompanied by an application fee of two hundred dollars ($200.00) to cover the city's administrative costs. Notice shall be published once in a newspaper of general circulation in the city at least ten (10) days prior to the hearing and written notification to property owners within three hundred (300) feet of the property shall be mailed at least two (2) weeks prior to the hearing.
