§ 22-11. Safe and convenient access to water meters.

  • Tenants, lessees, occupant or owners of premises shall provide safe and convenient access to water meters. The area around meter boxes shall be maintained such that meter boxes will at all times be readily visible and accessible for reading and servicing without requiring crawling and other extraordinary efforts to gain access. All vicious animals shall be confined such that they provide no threat of attack when meters are to be read or serviced.

    Access to water meter must be maintained so as to provide unobstructed access to city employees. Any obstruction due to trees, shrubs, debris, dirt, etc. will be removed by account holder. If the city removes obstructions, after notice to the account holder, actual city costs will be billed to the account holder on his/her next monthly utility bill.
