§ 22-13. Testing meters; adjusting bills; account history; meter reading by appointment.

  • (a)

    All water meters shall be carefully tested before they are installed. Should any customer question the accuracy of the water meter through which service is provided, the customer may request that the meter be removed and tested. The fee for testing each meter includes testing it in the presence of the customer or his duly authorized agent if requested by the customer and is as follows:

    5/8—3/4 inch $60.00
    1 inch  70.00
    1½ inch  80.00
    2 inch 100.00
    Over 2 inches As determined by the public works department

     

    If the test shows that the meter has been over-registering more than two (2) percent, the fee shall be not be charged to the customer and the invoice rendered, based on the last reading of such meter, shall be corrected accordingly. If the test shows that the meter is not over-registering more than two (2) percent, the fee shall be charged, and, in addition thereto, if the test shows the meter has been under-registering more than two (2) percent, the invoice rendered shall be corrected accordingly.
