§ 22-5. Tapping, meter set and meter relocation fees.

  • (a)

    Upon the application of the property owner for water or fire service, the following tapping and meter set fees shall be made to cover the cost of the taps and the installation of the service or water meter to the property line of the lot to be supplied water service:

    (b)

    All tapping and/or meter set fees shall be paid in full before water shall be provided to any service line. The customer is responsible for all connections after the meter. When more than one (1) meter is installed, e.g., one (1) each for house and sprinkler, the customer is responsible for ensuring that each meter is hooked to the service for which it is intended.

    (c)

    Where no immediately adjacent main exists, the cost of extending the main to provide service will be in addition to tap and set charges. The customer will pay all fees and expenses, including construction costs, incident to providing such service as deemed necessary and proper by the city.

    (d)

    When any owner of a property upon which a meter is located shall make written request to relocate said meter to another location upon the same property, the public works department shall relocate such meter at a fee of seventy-five ($ 75.00) per meter. Additionally, if a new tap and meter set are required, these fees, as described above, will also be charged.
