§ 4-1. Fowl—Keeping restricted; roaming at large prohibited.

  • (a)

    No person shall maintain, keep, own, possess or store within the corporate limits of the city any live chicken or any other live domesticated fowl or bird, except in chicken houses, sheds, cages or pens especially constructed for the purpose of confining and housing such fowl.

    (b)

    No person shall knowingly keep, possess, store or maintain any chicken or other domesticated fowl, either dead or alive, that is suffering from any contagious, infectious or communicable disease, or if dead is carrying any contagious, infectious or communicable disease.

    (c)

    No person shall keep, maintain, own, possess or store any live crowing rooster or fowl within the limits of the city.

    (d)

    No person shall permit or suffer any chicken or other domesticated fowl which he owns, keeps, possesses or stores to roam about unattended, except in the house, pen, shed or cage wherein they may be contained.
