§ 4-18. Definitions.

  • The following terms, as used in this article, are defined as set out below:

    Animal: A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia, differing from plants in certain typical characteristics such as capacity for locomotion, nonphotosynthetic metabolism, pronounced response to stimuli, restricted growth, and fixed bodily structure.

    Dog: Includes both male and female.

    Extreme weather : destructive weather events including but not limited to thunderstorms, flooding, damaging wind, hail, lightning, tornadoes, heat index over ninety (90) degrees Fahrenheit or with a wind chill factor of under fifty (50) degrees Fahrenheit and poor air quality as evidenced by an announced air quality advisory.

    Run at large: Being at large on public property or trespassing on private property and not in the control of any person either by leash, cord, chain or other like restraint.
