§ 5-3. Permits required; permit exceptions; revocation of permits.

  • (a)

    Permit required . It shall be unlawful to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, remove or demolish any building, structure, or any part thereof, or any equipment device or facility therein or thereon; or to change the occupancy of a building from one use group to another requiring greater strength, means of egress, fire and sanitary provisions, or to change to an unauthorized or prohibited use; or to install or alter any equipment for which provision is made or the installation of which is regulated by the Florida Building Code, without first having filed application and obtaining a permit from the community development department. A permit shall be deemed issued when signed by the building official or his designee and impressed with the city seal. A building permit shall be required for all work in accordance with the provisions prescribed in the Florida Building Code.

    (b)

    Exceptions . Exceptions to the requirement for a permit shall be in accordance with the provisions prescribed in the Florida Building Code.

    (c)

    Revocation of permit . Revocation of a permit and work stoppage shall be in accordance with the provisions prescribed in the Florida Building Code.
