§ 6-13. Closing of buildings where fire hazards exist.

  • Whenever, in the opinion of the chief of the fire department or his representative, there exists a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, or in his opinion, a hazardous condition exists, the chief, or his representative, shall have the power and authority, after reasonable notice, to close the building or place where such violation exists until such time as the violation or condition has been corrected and, in the opinion of the chief or his representative, such building is safe for use by the public.
