§ 9-11. Extension of benefits; exclusions.

(a)

It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the city to extend, effective as of October, 1956, to the employees and officials thereof, not excluded by law nor excepted herein, the benefits of the system of old-age and survivors insurance as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act and amendments thereto, and by F.S. Ch. 650, as amended; and to cover by such plan all services which constitute employment as defined in F.S. § 650.02, as amended; and to cover by such plan all services which constitute employment as defined in section F.S. § 650.02, performed in the employ of the city by employees and officials thereof, except service in all classes of elective positions.

(b)

There is hereby excluded from this article any authority to make any agreement with respect to any position or any employee or official now covered or authorized to be covered by another ordinance or law creating any retirement system for any employee or official of the city.
