§ 5-7. Recognition of building and other construction permits previously issued by Broward County within areas annexed by the city.

  • (a)

    Annexation subsequent to permit and prior to commencement of work . Where the City of Oakland Park has annexed an area subsequent to issuance of a building or other construction permit by Broward County, but prior to the commencement of the permitted work, the city may impose additional regulations as contained in the City of Oakland Park Code of Ordinances. All inspections of the permitted work shall be performed by the City of Oakland Park to the satisfaction of the building official.

    (b)

    Annexation subsequent to permit and commencement of work . Where the City of Oakland Park has annexed an area subsequent to issuance of a building or other construction permit by Broward County, and subsequent to commencement of the permitted work, such work may be completed under Broward County regulations to the extent it is permitted. Should any additional permits be required in connection with the permit(s) issued by Broward County, such additional permits and their issuance and administration may proceed under Broward County regulations. However, all inspections of the permitted work shall be performed by the City of Oakland Park to the satisfaction of the building official and shall be subject to an inspection fee as prescribed in the building permit fee schedule.

    (c)

    County permits and approved plans . The owner of the premises shall provide the building official of the City of Oakland Park with a true copy of the permit(s) issued by Broward County and a sealed copy of the approved construction plans.
